Let me start by saying we are "Extended Cruisers". (some insurance companies frown on liveaboards). For the last 2 years we have cruised for about 6 months out of the year. The other 6 months (hot summer and fall) the boat is still our home but that time is interspersed with visiting family and taking road trips. Soooo, Are we really Liveaboards? Hmmm.
When it comes to cruising/living aboard, don't put it off anymore than you have to. When it is time to retire, RETIRE and be done with it. I did a fair amount of research on the subject and the bottom line from experts and fellow cruisers is; "You will never have the money you want for cruising." "You will never have the boat the way you want it for liveaboard/cruising." So quit setting unrealistic goals and GO.
