Neuse Sailing Association

About the Neuse Sailing Association

The Neuse Sailing Association, Inc., is now in its 50th year, making it one of the oldest active sailing clubs of its kind in North Carolina. The NSA was organized to promote social and recreational activities around the sport of sailing, and to further knowledge of sailing techniques, seamanship, navigation, cruising and racing.

Cruising the Neuse River and Beyond

The NSA is all about getting out on the water and having fun. The Cruising Committee arranges daysails, raftups and overnight cruises to various destinations. Our goal is to get members of all ages and boating interests out on the water as often as possible and to provide opportunities for NSA boaters to develop friendships with other NSA boaters. And we really want to encourage family sailing. Nothing is better than watching our children and other family members experience the pleasure of water and wind as well as the self-esteem that comes from being able to handle a boat.

As a member, there is nothing extra you have to do and no extra dues to be paid. Just come on out and play. For daysails and raftups, you don’t even need to make a reservation, just show up and enjoy. For cruises, you will need to sign up and make a slip reservation if you don’t plan on anchoring out, but we make that process easy. If you’re new to cruising on the Neuse River, Pamlico Sound or the Beaufort area of the North Carolina coast, fellow NSA members will help you with navigation and local knowledge. Cruise leaders and NSA sailors who are participating can provide help if you go astray during a cruise. Most cruises include a social gathering. Come out and join the fun!
