How to Become a Member (or renew)

Step 1. Check out our Membership Page for descriptions of the types of NSA memberships available and the amount of annual dues. You may also want to review our About section for information about the NSA's history and mission, its officers and directors, and its patrons and sponsors. There's also a useful FAQ there and some past editions of the NSA's monthly newsletter, The Neuse Juice

Step 2. If you're ready to take the plunge, you can apply for membership in two ways. You can fill out an Online Application and pay online with a credit card (or indicate that you'll mail a check). Or you can download the Membership Application drop it in the mail along with a personal check for your dues. 

Step 3. Await confirmation of your membership application and a greeting from one of our officers. You'll also receive a free NSA burgee to proudly fly on your boat during NSA events. You'll also want to review our Events List and sign up for your first cruise with the NSA.

Renew your membership
 

For current members You can renew and pay online when you receive a renewal notice in the mail or, if the renewal period has started:
1) Log in
2) click on your name at the top of the page to enter your profile 
3) Click up the Renew button and follow directions and pay with a credit card or mail in a check

If you prefer to do everything by mail, you can print the standard Membership Application mark it "Renewal," complete it and mail it to the NSA with your check. Our address is:

More about renewing your membership

All memberships expire on Jan. 1 of each year, but we allow a three-month grace period to renew. So, the final expiration date is April 1 of each year.

In the past we allowed you to renew if you called or communicated that you were going to renew. With the implementation of our new membership software solution, the system strictly enforces the grace period and will automatically change your status to "Invalid" on April 1 if you have not renewed.

Please take this opportunity to renew your membership before March 31 to avoid any interruption of your membership. Be sure to use the link provided in the renewal reminder email or from the renewal button in your profile. 

If you would rather renew by mail, you can download a copy of the application form here, print it out, check the box for "Renewal," fill it out and drop it in the mail with your check. We will do everything possible to renew your membership with this information on or before April 1. However, since all members of the NSA Bridge are volunteers we are not always able to check the mail box and update the software on a daily basis. If you choose to mail your renewal, we suggest you mail it so that we receive it no later than March 22.
