Commodore's Log Approaching Summer! The first two cruises of the year are in the books. We had a great gathering in a beautiful setting for the cruise to Morehead City Yacht Basin. Weather didn’t cooperate, so only a few traveled by boat, but a number came by land. The second cruise to South River was also impacted by the weather (briefly Sunday morning), but a nice contingent of members had a great time at the beach area with food, drink, a bon fire and games. Fun times! Upcoming at the end of May is the Memorial Day cruise to Ocracoke followed immediately by the Week long cruise that is headed on a loop north to Manteo. Attendance is strong for both. Pray for good weather for the fleet. That’s it for now. I hope to see you on the water! Jeff Kenyon NSA Commodore Membership Welcome Aboard, NSA’s Newest Members! April was a lively and exciting month for the NSA! Between our Spring Cruise, the annual boat show, and the New Members Social, there was no shortage of activity—and camaraderie. Cruising Hello NSA cruisers. Last weekend we had a small but fun group turn out for the cruise to South River. Thanks to Mary and Matt Kemp for leading the way. Next up is the always popular Memorial cruise to Okracoke. Pat and Jeff Kenyon (the commodore himself), will lead this cruise. Check out the forum for updates. But before you go, stock up that boat and join us immediately following Ocracoke for the weeklong trip to Manteo. Christa and I will be the cruise captains for this cruise and look forward to exploring new (to us) locations up the sound. As the date gets closer, look for frequent updates on the cruise specific forum. Often folks will share helpful information and their boat’s itinerary. See you soon. Click here for the full list of Cruises! This year we are going to try communicating via WhatsApp on the cruises. It is easier to add and remove group members than regular texting. Please consider downloading WhatsApp if you don’t have it yet. We hope you will join us for as many cruises as you can. And as always, we look forward to seeing you on the water. David and Christa Vice Commodores of Cruising S/V Cymbeline Late Spring CruiseWater down 1/10' & winds about 17 knots, 4 boats made it over to SW
Creek on S River on Saturday. We all had a great beach afternoon &
evening, playing outdoor games, sharing a meal, & Mary's mint juleps
for KY Derby. Temperatures were perfect and while enjoying the
campfire, we played Left/Right with a KY Derby theme. And best of all
started the new tradition of presenting new members Matt and Arien with
their NSA burgee on their first cruise! |
