Go Beyond Bold! Be Gaudy, scary or just whoever or whatever you would like to be! Halloween is the perfect excuse to be a little or a lot crazy while having fun! Erik and Jean have planned a Halloween Party that starts Friday, October 21st with a Costume contest and goes into Saturday with a trolley pick-up that drops off at Blackbeard Triple Play Restaurant. Check Wild Apricot for all the Event details. Whether you plan on being a scary Frankenstein or a fun Popeye the Sailor it will be great fun figuring out who is who??? Another different kind of dress-up event not to be missed is the Commodore's Ball November 12th at Stanly Hall Ballroom located at 49 Craven Street, Downtown New Bern. The Commodores Ball is not only a fun evening but an opportunity to meet the new Bridge for 2023 while you say thank you to the 2022 Bridge.
The 2022 Oriental Cub Regatta will have Registration at the Tiki Bar on Friday, October 14th from 5:00PM-7:00PM. From 7:00PM-10:00PM there will be music at the Tiki Bar. Captains meet on Saturday morning at the Tiki Bar for the skippers meeting. The first warning for the Pursuit race is 12:30PM and the PHRF race starts at 1:00PM. The whole week-end is an exciting time in Oriental and everyone can join in on the fun either by racing their own boat or serving as a crew member. Racing is such a thrill for both captains and crew. I encourage both new members and old to Go Beyond Bold and sign up to race! You will be making memories that last a life time! October is such a beautiful month! Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go so we can start anew in the spring. Mary Guilfoyle Commodore M/V Meridian |

Cruise Captains
The Fall Cruise, South River - Wrap Up.
It was a fun trip. We were left without a cruise captain due to covid, but those who showed had a nice time. Some of the cruisers headed out on Friday to get an extra day out of the cruise.
We had eight boats total and we enjoyed time on the beach, then dinner grilled on the beach and a beach fire to follow. We were happy to have Teddy Faber join us for his first NSA cruise. We also want to thank David Kreutz for sharing his birthday and his birthday cake with us! Friends, Fun, Food woo-hoo!!!!
See ya' on the water!

NSA Members Take Burgee to South Africa
Mike and Sue Pail recently hung the NSA burgee in the KnysnaYacht Club in South Africa, where they are now members. Commodore Mike “Jakes” Jacobs helped hang the burgee in the second oldest yacht club in South Africa. The Pails are in Knysna, a city of about 80,000 on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa, where their new boat, Mira, is being built. Mira is Hull No. 11 of the Vision 444 yachts. The Pails will leave Knysna in early December for Cape Town and later Grenada (a 40-day journey) with the help of their friend, Reynold Taylor, and a delivery captain. The Pails then will travel up the East Coast with a week or two in Oriental. We hope to follow their adventure in the Neuse Juice!
If you would like to order a magnetic name tag to wear to the Commodore’s Ball (November 12th!), as well as to other events, don't delay in placing your order. After paying on the marketplace please text me at (615) 828-8621 so I can place your order.
With this month’s cruises to West Bay and New Bern I’m sure we will have lots of great photos posted to Facebook! As a reminder please post photos to the website for our members that don’t use Facebook.
