2018 Week Long Cruise

We will be visiting Belhaven, Alligator River, Albemarle Plantation and Edenton.  The trip will include anchoring out as well as marinas to give a mix of locations, even though the return trip covers some of the same waters.

For those with extra time, a "cruise extension" is also planned to Ocracoke.

The tentative float plan is as follows:

• June 16 to June 24 – Total of 9 Days
• Day 1: Oriental to anchorage outside Alligator River – Pongo River canal. (46 Nm)
• • There is good anchoring just off the ICW route as well as further inside in Cranberry Bay
  • With this being day 1, we can leave things a bit loose, but possibly we could do a dinghy raft up with drinks and appetizers
• Day 2: Pongo River canal to Alligator River Marina (37 Nm) or north end of Alligator River anchorage (40 Nm)

  • Seeing positive reviews on Active Captain with new owners in 2017. Basic marina and food.
  • There aren’t grills, but there is “meeting space”, so we might be able to do a cocktail party with shared appetizers, and then bring your own food for dinner type event.
• Day 3: Alligator River Marina to Albemarle Plantation Marina (28 Nm)

  • Nice clubhouse where we can have a group dinner
• Day 4: Lay Day at Albemarle Plantation
• Day 5: Albemarle Plantation to Edenton Town Dock (17 Nm)

  • Edenton is a short distance from Albemarle Plantation, and a nice quaint town
  • We can take trolley tours, tour historic homes and museums, and the screw pile lighthouse
  • Great restaurant opportunities here
• Day 6: Lay Day in Edenton
• Day 7: Edenton to anchorage at south end of Alligator River near Tuckahoe Point (56 Nm)
• Day 8: Alligator River anchorage to River Forest Marina in Belhaven (30 Nm).  Alternate marina in Dowry Creek.

• Day 9: Belhaven to home ports in Oriental (40 Nm)

Extension for those that can cruise for 2 weeks:

• Day 9: Lay Day in Belhaven
  
• Day 10: Belhaven to Ocracoke (42 Nm)
• Day 11 -13: Lay Days in Ocracoke
• Day 14: Ocracoke to Home (37 Nm)
