NSA – TIME TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS!! As we are coming to an end of celebrating NSA 50th Anniversary I must say it’s been a great year. At this writing we are 5 days from the Commodore’s Ball which I hope will be a wonderful night for all. Also we are 5 days from the Annual Meeting which I hope you are able to attend and that we were very happy with the year in recap and that we voted in a great new Bridge and Directors!! The Annual Meeting is November, 11 at 9:00AM the Oriental, Town Hall. This is a new meeting place for us this year. This year is in the past now and I foresee more growth, fun and new activities and adventures from what will be your new leadership!! Most importantly I foresee more members becoming involved in NSA events and activities – our membership has always been this club’s strength and I foresee us becoming stronger!! The Neuse Sailing Association is the “friendliest” sailing club around. We are a sailing club and a social club as well as a giving club as shown through our charitable donations and support we give to Oriental and Pamlico County. The NSA has had a positive economic impact on this area we are based and those we sail to. I am very proud of the things we have done over the past 50 years. Thanks to each of you and all those who came before us who have built this strong foundation we stand. Thanks to everyone for the past year and I enjoyed being your Commodore! Thank you! Cruising Update
Our final cruise of the season was a huge hit. The weather was perfect and there were plenty of opportunities for fun planned by the Cruise Captains Jean and Erik Hardtle aboard Knot Shore and Rob and Sharon McDonald aboard Mischief! See details in their write up below.
It has been our honor to serve as your Vice Commodores of Cruising this season. We appreciate everyone's patience as we instituted new practices. We recognize that change is not always easy. We believe we were successful in reaching our goals of easing the work effort for cruise captains, allowing new members to feel more included and reducing the impact our cruises have on the environment.
We also deeply appreciate all who stepped up to serve as cruise captains and co-captains. We had such a fun and creative group to plan the cruises! If you've never served, please don't hesitate to jump in next season. It's a great way to be involved and everyone likes a party!
We look forward to more fun and friendship on the water with the NSA when we return from the Bahamas next summer!

Cruise: Halloween Cruise - Destination: Beaufort Waterfront
It was great to have Co-Cruise Captains Rob and Sharon helping us to prepare for this event. Unknowing to all, we got together months before the event and tested all the Bars that agreed to participate in the Bar Crawl Poker Run! We thought this went pretty well for a new event... might even try it at another cruise. We were surprised how many showed up for the Friday events.
The winner of the Poker hand was Alicia Clayton on Jenna Bird who won a great turtle wine-bottle holder. Thanks go out to Barbara for letting us use the Inlet Inn meeting room to hand out our prizes!
Several people enjoyed the top deck of the Double Decker Bus Tour and the Maritime Museum.... it was perfect weather for it!
