Fall Cruise

Ahoy captains!
We are considering changing our destination for the fall cruise. If the winds are favorable we want to move to West Bay. As we get closer, we'll make the decision. We want to anchor outside since the access to the beach is much nicer, so we don't want any component of the wind direction to be north. If that turns out to be the case, we'll stick with the original location of Southwest Creek.
We'll be posting updates here on the forum as we get closer to the weekend.
Buddy and Marie Taylor (Dulcinea), Cara and I are going to be your cruise captains for our cruise to Southwest Creek in the South River. The cruise is the weekend of September 29th. We plan on heading over Friday 9/29 and return on Sunday 10/1. It's about a two hour trip from Oriental.
The anchorage in Southwest creek is very well protected from most wind directions and ample room for several boats with depths in the 8 to 10 foot range. There is a small beach area easily accessible with dinghies where we will have a social an Saturday at 2pm. As usual, the club will provide wine and beer.
We will have the drinks on our boat (Sol Mate) and everyone can swing by and pick up their beverage of choice. Make sure to bring ice, as we won't be icing all the beverages down. Please bring a side to share and a table for setting up on the beach (if you have one, not a big issue if you don't).
We plan on having some beach games (bocce ball, etc. we'll iron out the details as we get closer). If anyone has a favorite, make sure and bring it along!
We have always loved this anchorage and look forward to enjoying the weekend with our NSA family!
