Week-long Cruise
The 2022 Week-long Cruise from June 18-26
Here are our plans, for now (because all sailing trip plans are subject to weather conditions). Of course these are all just suggestions and every boat can make their own plans.
We're aiming for Wrightsville and Carolina beaches with a mix of anchoring, mooring and dockage available. I've been unable to find any marinas that are willing to block off slips for the 10-18 boats (just a guess) that might be joining. I'm going to provide some numbers for marinas that I contacted that can accommodate a few boats and leave it up to the individual captains to make their own reservations. Both Wrightsville beach and Carolina beach have numerous bars and restaurants and easy access to the ocean side beaches.
Friday, 6/17 to Beaufort/Shackleford Banks:
We want to try and have an outside option to Masonboro inlet, so that group could anchor over next to Shackleford Banks. For those that want to stick to the ICW, Taylors creek/Beaufort docks/Money Island are options.
Saturday, 6/18:
Outside to Wrightsville beach, inside to Mile Hammock. The group going outside can anchor in banks channel or set up dockage at a marina, upon arrival. An option for the inside could be Swansboro, although that would make for a long day Sunday to get to Wrightsville.
Sunday, 6/19:
All vessels in or arriving to Wrightsville.
Monday, 6/20:
Enjoy Wrightsville beach and have a social! The location of said social is still under consideration.
Tuesday, 6/21:
Wrightsville!
Wednesday, 6/22:
Move to Carolina Beach. There are 9 mooring balls, anchorage and a couple of marinas to choose from here.
Thursday, 6/23
Carolina Beach!
Friday, 6/24:
Anyone wanting to go outside in return, move back to an anchorage/dock near Masonboro inlet. Inside up ICW to Mile Hammock/Swansboro.
Saturday, 6/25:
Outside to Beaufort. Inside to Beaufort or (for those that have a faster boat than me) Oriental.
Sunday, 6/26:
Any stragglers, to Oriental.
