The beach on the southern shore of Pamlico Sound is very nice and the anchorage beautiful, unless the wind is out of the north, which makes it too rough. So, we'll hope for a South wind and moderate temps. We will gather on the beach in a socially distanced manner and if conditions are right we'll build a bonfire. In the continuing Covid environment, this will be BYOE (Bring you own everything), including food, drink, chairs, umbrellas, mask, etc.
We normally anchor near 35°01.869'N 076°20.082'W. That is on the outside, or soundside, of West Bay. We typically anchor outside because of easier access to the beach. There is no nearby beach on the inside of West Bay.
In the event of North winds, we'll communicate an alternative destination, possibly Cape Lookout. Make sure you're subscribed to the Fall Cruise Forum.
